This class is designed for those painters who currently have professional gallery representation. Please call for details and to see if you are eligible. Self-critique, series development, and artistic growth are key in this Atelier-style class. We will concentrate on growing and expanding our painting while staying true to your professional obligations. We want to find the grit and authenticity that is so evident in really good art.
This is our introduction and foundation class. The student will be introduced to the methods and materials that will be used in oil painting. Students will learn how to set-up a palette, mix colors, and draw from life. Students must have an understanding of materials and techniques before advancing into the Painting Fundamentals II and this class will help them achieve that. All necessary supplies are included in the tuition for this class only.
This Class is on Monday mornings from 10 am to 12 pm
In this second-level introductory class, students learn with special emphasis placed on the different stages of the painting process such as thumbnail sketch through finished painting. This class is ideal for the student that may wish to have more autonomy and control over his/her art class instruction.
This class is on Tuesday evenings from 6 pm to 8:30 pm
This course is focused on advanced painting techniques and concepts. It is intended to improve the artist's brush work, paint application, and confidence. Three classes per month are devoted to working from life and the fourth class per month will be for in-process work and individual critiques. Students must be actively painting outside of Braitman Studio classes to stay on schedule with the class.

You will work in a variety of mediums and materials such as linseed oil, stand oil, wax, found objects, burlap, and plaster. Through a deeper understanding of the tools used to prepare and build your paintings, you will achieve a fearlessness that allows you to explore the creation process and strengthen your voice as a painter.
